David Mitchell’s SoapBox: Phone Calls
This rant is basically the same one I have on a weekly basis in NYC. Nothing is more irritating than when people commit to texting well beyond the medium’s effectiveness. So much so, that I’ve started to view answering the phone as a sign of social maturity. And don’t even get me started on those people who don’t have their voicemail boxes set up, not because they don’t know how, but because they’re just so glamorously ‘post-telephone.’
PS - <3 David Mitchell always, but it pains me that these are ‘vodcasts’ and not just podcasts.
